The Inaugural River of Diamonds - Party for the Planet
The Borneo Tropical Rainforest Foundation (BTRF) is hosting its inaugural fundraising ‘Party for the Planet’ in support of the Green Renaissance movement it launched during the Bali Climate Conference in December 2007.
The event is being organized in collaboration with the Commune of Bagnes and the village of Verbier, and benefits from the continued support of Green Renaissance corporate partners.
The party is by invitation only, all guests will receive a unique ‘Borneo Key’ with a beautiful, handmade beaded necklace made by Dayak villagers from the Malinau region, where the proceeds from this event will be utilized in community development projects.
This key and necklace will unlock both the entrance to the party and solutions for the future of the planet.

Public Meeting - 6 March 2008
The Commune de Bagnes and BTRF will be holding a public meeting on 6 March to involve the local Verbier community. This will take place at the Rosalp Hotel from 19.00 to 22.00pm in the presence of the President of the Commune, Christophe Dumoulin. The meeting will first present eco-friendly initiatives - such as the Haut Val Protected Zone, recycling and a water treatment policy pioneered in 1964 - on which the Commune has taken a lead. This will be followed by a public reflection on what more could be achieved to keep Verbier at the vanguard of environmentally-aware and responsible resorts.
