All proceeds from the Party for the Planet will be dedicated to grass-roots projects of immediate benefit to people, planet, prosperity and profits.

In a nutshell, mounting scientific and statistical evidence demonstrates that we simply won’t be able to stop the current Climate Change crisis unless we can stop tropical deforestation - and we won’t be able to stop tropical deforestation unless we can provide viable incentives for communities to leave forests standing rather than logging or clearing them.

The simplest, most cost effective solutions can bring about major local - and planetary - benefits.

In this spirit, BTRF has selected a number of core projects to be the first beneficiaries of the event.

These will enable a magical evening to live on in terms of lasting benefits and immeasurably enhanced lifestyles, quality of life and livelihoods for those communities most in need.

These core projects are introduced on the next page – and then placed in the overall perspective of BTRF’s forests, community development and climate change mitigation strategies in the sections that follow.
